Body image

Body image…It’s a hot topic…for everyone. Guys. Girls. Fit people. Fat people. Everyone in between.

This weekend, I was doing my usual Facebook scrolling and found this article.

(Click for full link….it’s a great, quick read)

It is a good, and timely, reminder of what we all should be striving for….optimal health.
Don’t get me wrong. We all want to look better naked, (Duh.) but we don’t go through hair and make up or get airbrushed daily! We all have a bad hair day or get too little sleep and have puffy eyes. You may never have the abs of Rich Froning or Christmas Abbott. I’m never going to have a tan year round or an ass like Kim Kardashian. AAaannd despite the large quantities of Smart Water I drink….my body won’t glow like Jennifer Anniston. (Sigh)

Should I just stop working out, knowing that I will never live up to what society holds as a beauty standard? NO.

I do CrossFit to be strong and healthy. I am not a world renowned CrossFit athlete. I don’t have to have bulging biceps or ninja turtle abs to say I am an athlete.

If you are trying your best, eating right, and working out hard…you are on the path to the best you there is.

So keep it up, because strong is beautiful….It’s a hot topic…for everyone. Guys. Girls. Fit people. Fat people. Everyone in between.
