We have a great fundraising community at our gym. This is a great cause. It’s a 5K run. Kris and Kate Pikul are members at CFM and are incredible people. Read the following and consider signing up. I am! Read the following and check out the image at the bottom of this post.
Nathan Pikul (Kris and Kate Pikul’s son) was a happy, vibrant, perfectly healthy, 18-month old boy. On September 24, 2007 he went to sleep and never woke up. The cause of this tragic death remains unknown to this day.
Because Nate was more than a year old when he passed away, his passing is not considered Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Instead, it belongs to a lesser-known category, Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC), which describes the death of healthy children between the ages of one and eleven. Since SUDC is fairly new, few resources exist to explore causes and steps for its prevention.
On Saturday, October 10, 2015, we will be hosting our second annual “Nate the Great’s 5K Race” (run/walk) with a Kids’ Fun Run at the Rotary Pavilion (behind the Library), After Party at Stonebridge Restaurant.
Please visit sudc.org/naterace for more information and to register for the “Race” and/or After Party.
